Congratulations to Hillside Baptist and First
Baptist on going to the District Softball
Tournament.
Please memo all your managers about the situations
below. Field usage at this time of year is very
tight and many times groups are coming in after one
another. The rule of thumb should be if a field has
been worked and lined, and your team is not
scheduled there, that field needs to be left alone.
Also, AC#1 is strictly a 90’ baseball field. Please
share this with them as well. Let me know if there
is anyway I can help to expedite this. Thanks.

Cornelia First Baptist wins League.
With an average age of 40, no one thought Cornelia
First Baptist would have the stamina to play the
entire season, much less finish up undefeated.
But big performances out of those guys on their way
down the other side of the hill (Larry & Ronnie
Parham, Joey Duncan, Dr. Bray) along with those guys
teetering on the top of the hill (David Foster, Mark
"Whoooaaa" Garner, Tim Arrendale, Dale Dorsey, and
Brad Simmons) helped achieve this feat. Not to
mention that almost every game there happened to be
one big inning they played way over their head and
scored 20 or more runs. With an early season
injury to veteran Rob Roland, some one had to step
up. Perry Dalton was there to answer the
challenge, as well as Mitchell Thomas, who had to
sacrifice family time for the taste of victory. Once
again the softball world is sent into a tail spin
wondering what is next.... Ronnie Parham
retiring???? Don't count on it.

Letter to the Editor -
Ed, Do
not worry First Baptist, people will forget about
your undefeated season just like they did about
Grace Calvary's 2000 season, when we went
undefeated. We were better known as McDuffie's
Orange Crush that year. How soon people forget
Grace Calvary
That is correct
folks, Grace Calvary went 16-0 in the 2000 regular
season, How soon we do forget.
